So last year we decided that we needed another puppy... crazy, I know, but I just can't NOT love little baby puppies. We already have a fawn Weimaraner and wanted a blue one, so we were on the hunt. Didn't take long until we found one and ooooooooh, was he cute as a puppy! He is now almost a year old and is much bigger than these pictures, lol.

So here are a couple of layouts that I have done the last couple of weeks. They are pretty simple. I find it a little difficult to get back into the swing of things after having everything packed up for so long. I am hoping to get my groove going soon!

So here is one from our trip to Gatlinburg a couple of summers ago. I really enjoyed it there. We pulled over and walked some trails while at Cade's Cove.

Here is a real quickie that I threw together in a hurry. The picture is one of the pictures that Stacy Landry photography took of us in November.

Well, before I started these, I just knew they were going to look as good as Wendy's.... yeah, I was wrong, lol. Believe it or not, they were much hard than I thought they would be. I have had these packed in a box for MONTHS and couldn't wait to give them a try, so I did one for Taylor and one for McKenzie. I let them pick the pictures they wanted since the shadowboxes will go in their bedrooms. Hope you like them!

Well, it sure has been awhile since I updated my blog. It has been a crazy year for me and I haven't done much scrapping since I last posted. We spent the majority of 2010 concentrating on building our new house! In June we had to put our old house up for sale and all of my scrapping supplies had to go into storage for awhile... but I am back!!! With a new scrapbook room!!! I now have my very own room to do my scrapping in and I can't be more excited about it! I have big plans for decorating it, I just haven't had a chance to get it all done yet, so once that is all done, I will post pics, I promise!

Anyway, I have been getting back into my groove slowly and have a layout almost finished that I will be posting this week, so stay tuned!

I am almost done with Disney!!! Just a couple of layouts left and some finishing touches on a couple of unfinished layouts and the 2008 trip will be COMPLETE! YAY! I love scrapping Disney pictures, but I have had enough! I am ready to move on and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

This beach was GORGEOUS!!! It was a private beach in Cozumel that was just wonderful. Being served a delicious lunch while sitting on the beach with unlimited drinks.... you just can't get any better than that! I can't wait to go back!

Another Disney layout... I am actually pretty close to be done with our Disney trip, which is bittersweet for me. I love working on Disney albums because they are so fun, but I am tired of looking at Disney pictures, lol. We won't be going back to Disney for a looooooooong time, so once this album is done, no more Disney for me. Not that I don't have a ton of other stuff to do, but I really do like scrapping our Disney trips.

Anyway, the girls loved this ride. I could only ride it a couple of times before I had had enough. I think this is the jerkiest ride EVER. Fun, but jerky.

I am so not a "purple" person...like at all, which is weird because I remember loving purple when I was a little girl. Not anymore and especially not in my scrapbooking. Purple is probably my least used color in all of my books. Not sure why, I just don't use it that often.

We were at my parents house when I saw my mom Wisteria plant that had blossomed and created a beautiful archway that I knew was going to make GORGEOUS pictures, so the next day I made the girlies get all dolled up for pictures and if I do say so myself, the pictures came out really REALLY good! I am actually going to do another layout for the "family" book from this "session" but these are for the girlie individual books.

So I have been doing a little bit of scrapping the last couple of days... getting some more stuff done for my vacation albums. I need to finish Disney (from 2 years ago), Gatlinburg, our Cruise and a little weekend getaway to Memphis! The problem is I get tired of working on one set of pictures, so I bounce around from album to album...

Relax - I inked my letters blue and then used Stickles, now you can't see them hardly at all so I am going to have to come up with something else so you can see them

Hannah Montana mini album

A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Hannah Montana concert for the girlies. I think her concert sold out in something like 5 minutes or something crazy like that.... I had already done a layout from this concert, but wanted to do a mini book on it for my big basket of little mini albums... so here ya go!

(Everything was done with the Cricut and the Hannah Montana cartridge, which can be used for TONS of different things, not just Hannah related things!)

For the charms on the side, I cut the treble clef and note out of cardstock 3 times and glued them on top of each other. Once that was dry, I inked with embossing ink and covered with UTEE twice to get a nice good thick coverage so it would be a bit more durable.

Well, you probably think that I *HAVE* forgotten.....about my blog. It seems like forever since I last posted. I have been slacking something awful and I am hoping to get back into the groove of blogging and posting my latest creations.. good and bad, lol.

Now on with the goodies... our challenge for BBTB2 was to use the Elephant from the Everyday Paperdolls cart. Both of these paperdolls carts are great, even if you aren't a big paperdoll fan. There are so many extras and goodies on the carts, they truly are jammed pack with great cuts. so here is what I came up with using the elephant. When I was looking for paper, I couldn't find *one* piece or even scrap of gray paper, so I cut him out of white and used Slate Glimmer Mist to make him gray.

So, while at Disney, I scheduled an early breakfast, much to the girls' dismay, but it ended up working out for some GREAT pictures! We were actually one of the first people let in the park that morning, before they opened, since our breakfast was scheduled for 8am. We pretty much ran to the castle to try to get some pictures with nobody else in them. BINGO!!! We were able to get it done and then move out of the way so others could get their pictures as well. I think the castle is my favorite place of all of Disney. Eating breakfast there just puts a little more magic in the day.

So, back to Disney, lol. I actually was thinking that I might try to concentrate on getting my Disney album done. It has been almost 2 years since we went and I would really like to finish it, so be on the lookout for lots of Disney I guess!

I used my Cricut Gypsy on this one! I was able to weld the Gypsy Font (which I love!) and have everything on my mat and cut all at one time. I was able to put my papers and set up my mat exactly how it was on my Gypsy screen! Such a time saver!

Carnival Showgirl

Back to a few cruise pictures.... As we were walking out of the dining room one night, there was a showgirl at the exit taking pictures with everyone, so we mugged it up for the camera one more time, lol. Taylor had already ditched us for the new friends that she had already made, so no pic with her.

This is my first time using feathers on a layout. Connie uses feathers all of the time and I love the look of it! Just another texture that add so much to her pages without taking away from the pictures! I can totally see myself using feathers again!

Project 365 - Weeks 39-44

Ok, back on track with Project 365 layouts..... I am now up to date through the end of October!!! YAY! I have loved many things about this project, but I have to be honest, I will be glad when it is over. It is a great way to document your everyday goings on, but when you don't have a lot going on, sometimes it is a bit difficult to come up with a picture. Maybe I just live a boring life, lol. I am glad that I am doing the project because I think it will be supercool to look back on years from now, but wow, will I be happy when it is over with!!! I won't be doing it next year for sure, but don't count me out on doing it in the future.

One thing that this project has done is help me use up TONS of my leftovers. All of my pages have been done with leftovers stickers and such and nothing but SCRAPS. My entire scraps pile has dwindled down to hardly NOTHING!!! how great is that! I have cleared out so much stuff and did something useful with it! Not only have I cleared out scraps and stuff like that, but I used an entire KI Memories stack!!! I have 3 sheets left! Another great feeling to finish off a complete paper stack!

Ok, so this layout didn't photograph well at all. I took probably 10 pictures and still couldn't get a good one, so please forgive the crappy picture of it. I made this layout from the Kitz Girlz kits from last month. I haven't had a chance to get the other layout done but love the way this one came out! I just realized that I need to put a year on this layout, lol. These pictures were taken last year at the pumpkin patch.

Completely on a whim, I sent a submission for a design team spot at lilscrappinmama and could hardly believe my eyes when I got the email that I was selected to be on the design team!!! I loved this project in the beginning and I think that it is going to be great to look back on, but wow, it is hard to keep up with on a daily basis. I really do love the concept of the project, I am just a bit burnt on it, lol. I will continue through the end of the year though, I feel like I have to now that I have come this far!!!! Cricut Gypsy review

Ok, so I when I heard about the Gypsy, I was not at all interested. I love the Cricut and all of the cartridges, but that is where it stopped for me. I wasn't interested in the Jukebox when it was released, nor was I interested in the software. When I heard about the Gypsy, I just kind of blew it off and didn't think much of it. As time went on, I was hearing more and more about it and it finally caught my attention. I heard that HSN (Home Shopping Network) was going to be offering a special deal, so I decided to check it out and see what this little machine was all about... I got sucked in and ordered one.

For $299 you got the machine, a carrying case, car charger, and a Don Juan cartridge in addition to the 2 preloaded cartridges that you can only get on the Gypsy called Gypsy font and Gypsy Wanderings. If you buy the Gypsy anywhere else, the $299 will only get you the Gypsy, so everything is just extras that were thrown in to sweeten the deal. I opted for the free shipping offer so mine came a few days after everyone else got theirs. I watched the Cricut messageboards to see what everyone was saying and there seemed to be LOTS of problems. Most of the problems have been worked through thus far, at least mine have. I do believe that Provocraft is working hard to get all problems resolved, they just need some time. I have had a little time to play with it, so here are my pros and cons on the machine based on my initial use....

Pros:
- I love that you can see all of the cartridges available and play with those images to see if it something that you would like to purchase
-much bigger than I had expected, I was thinking it was going to be the size of a cell phone, the screen alone is about the size of my iPhone
- Provocraft has already sent out a couple of updates that have been major improvements. We can only hope that this continues. From my understanding, it will be similiar to the iPhone where updates and improvements will be sent out periodically
- since I have a Mac, the Design Studio software wasn't available to me (even though I wasn't really interested) and now with the Gypsy I can play with welding words and designs. Now that I have played with the software a bit, I can definately see why so many people liked it, there are lots of great features
- there are lots of ladies that are doing video tutorials online so if you don't know how to do something, more times than not, you can find a video to help. Definately take the time to check out these videos, they have helped me tremendously
- you can upload all of your cartridges to the Gypsy and not have to bring your whole collection with you to a crop, just your Gypsy

Cons:
- once you upload your cartridges, they are linked FOREVER to that Gypsy. I would like to see and "unlink" option. Anything permanent makes me a bit nervous
- I don't believe that the Gypsy was "exactly" plug and play like Provocraft was saying on the HSN presentation. They gave very vague computer requirements and lots of people have had trouble syncing up and updating their Cricuts (myself included). They also stated that the Gypsy is Mac compatible and that isn't completely true. I do believe that they are working on these problems, however. Another thing that Provorcrafts talked about was that they Gypsy will plug into any Cricut and you can use, well, that is not really the case, since the Cricut's firmware must be updated. I am not going to plug my Gypsy into anyone's Cricut and update their firmware for my use

After I ordered it, I was feeling buyer's remorse and pretty much decided that it was going back to HSN even before I received it. After reading all of the problems that people were having initially, I was certain it was going back. Then those problems started being fixed, so I started to rethink my decision. Once I received it and played with it (and had my own issues) I am going to give it some more time, but I think I will end up really liking it. I feel a bit clumsy with it right now just because it is something new.

My Buddy

So Taylor, being an 8th grader, was paired up with Kindergarten buddy for the whole year. This is a great bonding program with the "big kids" and "little kids" on campus. The 8th graders do a great job with all of the little buddies...

Here is Taylor and her little buddy at the Buddy Hello. I am doing 3 albums to give as gifts for the Buddy Program, so all layout will be done in 3's. Because of the number of 8th graders, some of them had to double up and share buddies and this is the case with Taylor, so I want to make sure the Taylor, her friend Erin and their little buddy Kayley all get albums at the end of the year.

BBTB Challenge: Priceless from Graphically Speaking

This week's challenge from BBTB was to use the "priceless" cut from Graphically Speaking. If you don't have Graphically Speaking, definately look into getting it. There are so many different cut on that cartridge. It seems like everytime I look at it, I see something that I have never seen before!!!

I needed to make a birthday card for Taylor's little Kindergarten buddy so I decided that the priceless cut would be perfect for the card...... the back of the card. You know how on every storebought card, there is a little barcode on the back of the card that is actually the price of it, well, I took that idea and put my own little twist on the barcode....

Well, here is a 2 pager for all of those "complainers" out there, lol. You know who you are.... I won't mention any names, but Wendy, I hope this one makes you happy!!!!

I had pictures of Lee and McKenzie watching the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus 3D concert on TV and really had no clue how to make it all gel. The colors are so out of whack with what I would consider normal "Hannah colors". Finally I started to make progress. This layout has been 2 weeks in the works and I am finally finished it!!!

One cool thing that I did was use alcohol inks to color the Prima stars. They were white and the new orange ones just came out but I didn't have those at home, so I started to play with what I had and was able to get the look I wanted without driving to buy one spray of orange glitter stars, lol. I just dabbed the white stars and the "stems" with alcohol ink using the little felt tool and it worked great!!!! I probably will only buy the white ones now and use my inks to color them whatever color I want!

Donna Downey canvas book class....

So a few weeks ago, Donna Downey taught a wonderful class as TM. The class was AMAZING!! We used so many products that I didn't even know really existed! We used raw canvas, modeling paste, cheapie kiddie watercolors, pages torn from various books, notebook paper and more!!! If you get a chance to take a class with Donna, DO IT!!! It took me a little while to finally get my book completed and I have so, here ya go.....

Crop like a Scrap star Weekend

WOW!!!! What a weekend!!! I spent all day Monday recovering, lol. It was a weekend of non-stop scrapbooking from early Friday morning until late in the afternoon on Sunday. We started out on Friday with the Glitz Girls. If you aren't familiar with Glitz products, definately check them out. It is one of my favorite companies! Here are the two layouts I completed during their class....

On Saturday, we had a class from the TM girls.... Wendy, Connie and Melissa. And once again, another great class. We used lots of techniques in this one including the new Tim Holtz alcohol ink pens and the a great sand mixture. After the class on Saturday, it was another day of non-stop scrapbooking!!! Tons of fun!

On Sunday, we had a class by the one and only Donna Downey! Wow, is really all I can say. We made a canvas album from her line at Prima. Prima is already one of my favorite companies, now it is definately at the top of my list. Donna taught us how to use mediums and watercolors, things that I didn't even really know existed!!!! How cool is that! She definately brings a more artistic style to scrapbooking and I love it! I can't wait to start using all of the great techniques that I learned into my everyday scrapbooking.

Here I am with Donna holding my book that I made. I am really surprised that it came out as well as it did!!! I haven't finished the book yet, but what I have so far, is really exciting for me!

Here is a sneak peek of what I have done so far! This was done with acrylic paint and water! Thanks to June, the Queen of the Crop, for doing my wire heart. Once I get the entire book finished, I will upload each and every page!

BBTB Challenge: Graphically Speaking Freedom

Paradise Cricut Class

Well, I am going to try my hand at teaching a class and here it is.......

Janet and I are actually going to be teaching it together. It has TONS of techniques and layers on it. We will be teaching basic Cricut operations as well as some tips and tricks that we have learned along the way. Not only will you be learning how to use the Cricut, you will be learning other techniques such as using Glimmer Mist, ink pots and layering for a 3-D effect. You will also learn how to cut fabric on your Cricut! This opens up a TON of possibilites! Check out Treasured Memories for more details and to sign up.

If you like the layout but can't attend the class, we will be selling kits as well. In the kit you will receive pictures and complete instructions along with EVERYTHING needed to completed the entire layout.

Hannah Montana concert

I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Hannah Montana concert when it came to town, well, some would call it luck, lol. My girls really wanted to go and I wanted to surprise them with tickets, so I was armed with my credit card when they went on sale and was able to get through. We had pretty bad seats all the way at the top in the 3rd level, but hey, we made the best of it and had a great time anyway! That little girl can sure put on a show!!!!

When I heard that Cricut was releasing a Hannah Montana cartridge, I knew that I had to get it. Even if you are not a Hannah fan, it is a great cartridge!!! It has several gret fonts as well as music notes and some beautiful swirly guitars and butterflies. In fact, there are very few "Hannah" cuts on the cartridge. Here is a layout that I did using the cartridge. The big Hannah on the side is cut from a folder that I bought in the school section. I saw it and thought it would be cool to use on a layout. I have had it in my stash for almost a year now!

Last year about this time, we went to Gatlinburg, TN for a family vacation. I loved it up there!!! It was so pretty!! If you want a great family vacation, there is tons to do!!! As we were driving to our cabin, we passed by "Cooter's" and saw The General Lee out front. I remember when my younger brother was a little boy, he loved the Dukes of Hazzard and would pretend to be them on his General Lee bike....just thinking about it puts a smile on my face, lol. So here Lee and I are posing in front of the General Lee. This is actually one of the two different ones we saw in Gatlinburg......

McKenzie and I went to the first Mommy and Me class offered at TM yesterday and had a blast. Little did we know that 3/4 of the class would be her friends from school!!! I don't have lots of pictures of just me and Lee together so when I get a good one, I usually try to make the best of it. And to be honest, this one isn't the greatest, but I still like it. I can't even remember where this picture was taken, lol. I am thinking that it might be the night that we went to Picante with Kerry and Allison, but not completey sure.

This was my first time trying Perfect Pearls the way Tim Holtz showed on his blog recently. I really like how it came out! He is truly a genius!!

So this is one of our 2 dogs. He is a BIG puppy, lol. I never EVER thought that I would end up with a big dog like this in my house since I was used to little dogs, but he is in the house, and I love it. He has become our protector. The only problem I have with him is when Lee gets home from work, me and the girls cease to exist, lol. He *LOVES* Lee and wants to be right by his side no matter what he is doing.

Melodee Langworthy Beach Book class

So I was fortunate enough to take a class with designer Melodee Langworthy a couple of weekends ago. We made the cutest acrylic beach book. I had never made an acrylic book and the fact that this one was a beach book and I just got back from my cruise, it was like a match made in heaven, lol. What I love most about this book is that Melodee taught us that it is ok to glue two pictures back to back and then use that (and that alone) as a page in your book. Do you know how many pictures you can fit in a book by doing that???? TONS!!!! In this book, I used over 40 pictures and really, I have room for lots more!!!! Here are just a few pictures of my completed book.....
