Dance recital layouts....

from last year. I usually get the book from the dance recital done within a month or so after the actual recital so that I am done with it, but last year, I was slacking I guess, lol. I sat down to scrapbook and decided that instead of starting on anything new, I am going to work on getting this album done since our next dance recital is less than a month away......

BBTB Challenge: Doodlecharm Border

The challenge this week over BBTB was to use any cut on the Doodlecharm cart, but the twist was to use the border feature. This is a feature that I haven't used yet on any cut, so it was quite the challenge for me. After using it, I realized just how much I think I will like the border feature.

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, pattern paper (not sure who makes it, came out of my scraps pile), May Arts ribbon, Cosmo Cricket paper, American Crafts Thickers, Doodlebug brads, Heidi Swapp stamp, ink

Me and Mickey

This was a super quick and easy layout. I really like doing the quick ones sometimes. One cool thing about this is the diecut that I used. Lori from The Scrappy Shack sent these to me a while back and I loved them!!! As soon as I realized that I could make a Mickey head out of them, I was so thrilled!!! I used a white one as my base, cut the black one where I wanted it and put red paper behind it. Quick, easy, and effective. Thanks so much Lori for the great diecuts that you sent!!! Everyone please check out her Etsy store, she has some great designs!

10 Reasons

I bought this kit from Karen Russell when she taught a Photography class last year. I loved the kit sample that she showed and had the perfect pictures to put but just didn't have the time until now to do it. It is a little more simple that I am use to doing, but I think it turned out great. I pretty much followed her layouts exactly as far as the layout itself, for the reasons I changed it up just a tiny bit, but not much. I may end up adding some flowers to the pages, I haven't decided yet.

Title page

Reason 1: Because we fell in love

Reason 2: Because being together is important

Reason 3: Because I live my life for you

Reason 4: Because this is what it is all about

Reason 5: Because we are family

Reason 6: Because we are there for each other through the good and the bad

Reason 7: Because we are still in love

Reason 8: Because you are growing into a beautful young woman

Reason 9: Because my baby is no longer a baby

Reason 10: Because life is wonderful

Project 365 - Week 14

Every week I talk about using up my supplies on my Project 365 and this week I decided to show you just how much stuff I am using. This is just a very small sample of some of the sticker sheets and stuff that I have used. It is a great feeling using up supplies that have been sitting in my bins for years!!!! So, here is a picture of just a couple of the things that I have been using on my pages.......I have tons more sheets like this!

and here is my layout for last week. Taylor was in charge of the pictures for last week and she did a great job. I think she captured what her life is about at age 13, lol

little mushroom

Lee bought me this huge plant for Valentine's Day and so far so good keeping it alive, lol. I went to water it this weekend and saw this tiny little mushroom. It was only about 2 inches tall and was the smallest mushroom I had ever seen.

When I saw it, I immediately thought of a thread that I read on a photography board about using your kit lens and a 50mm lens to create a macro shot. After practicing on some crazy things, I thought I would give it a shot on this little mushroom.....

and another macro shot (still need practice, but how cool is that?)

and just another zoomed in shot of it in the pot

BBTB Challenge: Doodlecharm Bunny

Our latest challenge from BBTB was to use the bunny from Doodlecharms. What a cute little cut this is. If you don't have Doodlecharms, you really should take a look at it. It is the only cartridge that has an assortment of holiday and seasonal stuff. It really is a great cartridge. Anyway, this didn't come out anything like what I pictured in my head for some reason, but still came out somewhat cute I guess......

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug sugar coated cardstock, Pink Paislee letter stickers, Prima flowers, Stickles, Liquid Pearls, googly eyes, chalk, Doodlebug flock, sequins, May Arts ribbon
