Minnie Mouse

At Epcot, they have this great little place called Character Connection that you can see several characters all in one place. You just go from station to station to have your pictures taken with each one. It was great for us since I was there with the girls by myself and they had Photopass photographers at each station. This way I was able to get in the pictures with the girls.

BBTB Challenge: Rose from Indie Art cartridge

Well, this is a little on the corny side, lol. I got the challenge from BBTB which was the rose and I couldn't think of anything that wasn't too valentine-y for it and then while I was watching The Bachelor, it came to me. I had to do something related to it. After all, it is just one of the trash TV shows that I am addicted to right now. I tried not to get sucked in, but it didn't work. I am hooked. So anyway, here is my project for the blog. I used an empty Maya Road sheers tin that I dug out of my trash, painted it and covered the inside with paper.

Other products used: Making Memories paint and glitter, May Arts ribbon, ricrack, Bazzill flower, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Candy Apple Red, Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Love Elsie pattern paper, Bazzill cardstock, Queen and Co. felt border, Doodlebug flock, Stickles, Cricut Indie Art and Going places cartridge

Project 365 - Week 4

The next installment of my Project 365 book. Still having a blast doing these. I love waking up and looking at my day a little differently and realizing that some of those little things are really important to me even though most of the time they are way down on the priority list. It is funny how things like laundry affect you.

So here is my layout for week 4. I can't wait to see what this week brings!

scrapbookpictures.com

Let me just say that scrapbookpictures.com is wonderful!! A few months ago, I took a class with Karen Russell, I am sure you all know since I talk about it all the time, lol. Anyway, during that class she recommended scrapbookpictures.com as a photo developer. I tried them out and wow, the pictures look amazing. I have been using them ever since. The prices are great and the shipping is crazy cheap. The last couple of days, I have been trying to upload pictures and the site keeps going down. I posted on 2ps about it but figured I would keep trying. The next day, I see a post from Doug, the owner, stating that they are having problems. So I post to him that I had been trying to upload and couldn't but I would keep trying. Within minutes, seriously just a few minutes, my cell phone was ringing with a number I didn't recognize. I answer it and to my surprise, it is Doug!!! He tracked down my number from my user information. He gave me some credits for my persisitance and we ended up talking for several minutes. What a nice guy!!! Come to find out, he lived in my neck of the woods for a short time! Anyway, I just wanted to praise him and his business. He really should go around and teach customer service!!! Give scrapbookpictures.com a try the next time you need prints made. You won't be dissappointed. You have tons of different options there from sizes to finishes of paper. He talked to me about the metallic paper and I can't wait to try that out!

Disney - Dream Fastpasses

We were lucky enough to be at Disneyworld during the Year of a Million Dreams and boy did we get really lucky!!! We got up early (very early) to have breakfast in the castle one morning and couldn't wait to get started with rides that day. We actually finished a little earlier than the park opened, so lots of areas were roped off. Once the rope dropped, we headed towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Best decision we made, lol. We were one of the first ones on the ride that day and as we were exiting the ride, there were 3 castmembers handing out Dream Fastpasses. Each fastpass had little tabs that you broke off to get on the most popular rides in the park. Some of them we didn't need since the lines weren't long, but others really came in handy. The wait for Jungle Cruise was over 60 minutes by the time we got to it. With our Dream Fastpasses, we waited less than 10!!!!

Products used: Making Memories pattern paper and journalling paper, cardstock, Prima flower, KI Memories expoxy sticker, Queen and Co. flower, Rusty Pickle chipboard, acrylic paint, Tim Holtz grungeboard stars, Stickles, May Arts ribbon. Title was cut using Fling font and SCAL program on Cricut

Project 365 - Week 3

Well, I am done with my week 3 layout. I am still going strong on this project and hope that everyone else is too. Even though I only have 3 layouts in my book, my girls are loving going to back and looking at the past layouts. I can't wait to see how they react at the end of the year when they go back and remember things that they had forgotten about. Oh, how I love this project!!! Every morning, they are even curious as to what my "picture of the day" is going to be. Love it!!!

Again, assorted supplies that I won't be listing, just things that I found while digging through my stuff. I do have one little item that is a little unique, however. On the 16th, the little Happy B-day Pixos was made by McKenzie for me for my birthday and I decided to use it on my layout. She was thrilled to death and it works perfect with my layout.

Whimsical Scraps and Bugs Challenge: Sketch

The challenge for WSB was a little different this month. Instead of giving us a certain cut to work with, we were given a sketch and asked to use at least one Cricut cut of our choosing. If you know anything about me, you know that I love sketches. My layouts usually never end up following the sketches, but they are a great way to get the juices flowing when you are stuck.

The sketch came from Becky Fleck's Page Maps site, which if you haven't been there, you need to. She releases new sketches every month that are just fantastic.

and here is my layout based off of the sketch
Products used: Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess papers, Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories letter stickers, Prima bling, Heidi Swapp masks, Tattered Angels glimmer chip, Doodlebug glitter, Tim Holtz grungeboard, misc bling, Cricut Indie Art and Storybook cartridges

BBTB Challenge: Snail from Walk In My Garden

Another fun challenge from Regina!!!! Another challenge, that truly was a challenge for me!!! The snail from the Walk In My Garden cartridge is way cute, as well as most of the other things on there. After a couple of days debating on what I was going to do, I ran across some of those little mail boxes at Target and thought to myself the phrase "snail mail" and the idea just went from there......

Products used: Wall Pops vinyl, Prima flowers, Buzz and Bloom chipboard, Doodlebug flock, glitter and rubons, Me and My Big Ideas bling, Jolees, ribbons, Cricut Walk in my Garden, Alphalicious, and Paper Dolls cartridges

Project 365 - Week 2

Here is my week 2 for my Project 365 book. Once again, I can't even tell you how much fun I had rummaging through all of my "old" stuff to see what I can use on these pages!!! Rediscovering old products is great!!!! Most of the stuff I found, I didn't even remember having!!
I hope that everyone was able to keep up with the pictures this week. From what I have been reading, the CK kits are beginning to show up on people's doorsteps, so hopefully we will be seeing LOTS of 365 pages soon.

I won't be listing individual products on these pages just because I use tons of different things and it would take me forever to remember or figure it out. If there is a specific product that you have a question about, feel free to email me!

Pay it forward: Martha Stuart style

Last month, I was fortunate enough to win a HUGE KI Memories kit that Jeanne was giving away. I wanted to pay it forward, but never had the right thing that I wanted to give. The buzz over the Christmas stuff from Martha Stuart has been crazy over the last few weeks on several of the message boards that I frequent, so I decided to pick up a few things and use that as my pay it forward. I will pick a winner on Friday sometime. So here we go..........

All you have to do is leave a comment and please only enter one time

Included in this drawing: 4 sets of acrylic stamps and 3 sets of her glitter

BBTB: Guest Designer for January

If you have never heard of BBTB (Bitten By the Bug), it is a great little challenge blog the Regina Easter set up to challenge those of us with Cricuts. Her challenges are lots of fun and her design team is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I have been following this blog for awhile to get ideas from different way to use my Cricut diecuts. You really should check it out BBTB .

My first challenge as a guest designer was to use the Pencil from the My Community cartridge. Here is my submission....

Products used: Wall pops vinyl, Pink Paislee paper, Jenni Bowlin journal page, Doodlebug paper, misc. ribbon, American Crafts thickers, Bazill Cardstock, Cricut, My Community cartridge

They actual container that I used for this project is one from one of the DCWV tubes that the wall quotes come in. It was such a nice tube, I hated to throw it away. It works perfect for McKenzie's new pencil holder, lol. I covered it with red vinyl Wall Pops that I got at Lowe's on clearance. Thanks to the Cricut message board for that tidbit of info, lol. Once I had the whole thing covered, I just started decorated. The tube is larger than the pencils, so I just put tissue paper at the bottom to "lift" the pencils up a bit.

Be You.

Just a sweet picture I took of McKenzie. This was actually the first "practice" shot I took with my Nifty Fifty lens after taking Karen Russell's photography class. Let me just say, if you ever get a chance to take a class with her, DO IT!!!! It is amazing!!!! She is amazing!!!! I learned so much in such a short period of time, it was unbelievable. Anyway, here is a quick layout that I whipped up this weekend. Sorry about the crooked picture, as you can see, I still have some more learning to do, lol.

Products used: Crate pattern papern, Bazzill cardstock, Tim Holtz Distress Stickles, Prima flowers, Making Memories snaps (that I have had for probably 5 years!!!), American Crafts felt Thickers

Project 365 - Page 1

Ok, so I have gotten a ton of emails asking me how I am doing my version of the infamous Project 365. I decided the best way to tell is to show you. I got up this morning, took my 3rd and last photo for this week, and finished up my first page. My weeks are going to run from Sunday through Saturday, just like a regular week does. Not every page is going to look like this one. I plan on doing each page different to kep me interested. I have to say, I had a blast looking through all of my embellishments while trying to find something to go on this page. I think I am really going to enjoy this whole project, especially if I can use some of the stuff that I have had for years!!!!

Project 365

The last month or so I have been hearing about a kit from Creating Keepsakes called Project 365. The concept is to have some sort of snippet of your life everyday for 365 days, most of that being pictures. I started thinking about this concept and decided that I am going to give it a whirl. The kit that Creating Keepsakes is putting looks nice, but I decided that I am going to do my own thing and use up some of the stash that I have already. It is probably a good thing I decided that since the kit went on sale this morning, the CK website crashed and there are lots of unhappy people that didn't get a kit. It sold out before lots of people could even get the page to load to order one. The whole thing was a mess.

I am going to use mine as more of a photo challenge to help me practice some of the skills that I learned in the Karen Russell class. I started with my first picture today, which happened to be a picture of a clock that I inherited from my grandmother at 12:00 midnight.

Instead of buying the kit, I got an 8 1/2 x 11 black album and put the title on it myself. I will probably run a ribbon down the side, but didn't have one on hand that I liked or had enough of. Here is my album that I will keep my project in.....

The word project is vinyl that I cut using my Cricut. I used Tim Holtz grungeboard for the numbers. I painted them white and then ran and ink pad over them for a little bit of color.
