Design Team May 2008

Ok, I am posting this a bit early. I have a few minutes to work on it, so I figured I should go ahead and get it posted before things get too crazy with the kids getting out of school this week. We won't be having another meeting until July, so no new layout for a little over a month for the design team, but I am hoping to get some layouts knocked out soon and will post those as I get them done. Here we go...........

For this month's products we received:
7Gypsies ATC cards

2 sheets of Core Coordinations cardstock

Glitz roller stamp

Maya Road vinyl sheet

For the cardstock, I chose the lightest pink color cardstock and my Glitz roller stamp was the arrows. I used the vinyl sheet as a mask on the cardstock and sprayed Glimmer mist, then ended up cutting up the vinyl and using parts of it for embellishments. The pictures don't show the mirrors that well, but they are a way cool embellishment. I also used the new Doodlebug flock on the chipboard letters. Here is what my layout ended up looking like after using all of my goodies this month
and a couple of close ups
Melissa always gives us several challenges to complete on the layouts as well. This month the challenges I chose to do were
1. Use an old Product in a new way - for this challenge, I used some old rubon alphabets on the mirrors and created swirls. I used several of the W, X and Z's that I would never have any other use for.
2. Use fabric or lace- I used lace to make a flower (you can see it in the closeup picture)
3. Use scalloped edge paper or create your own - I used Doodlebug paper frills on each side of the layout for the scalloped edge
Products used in addition to the ones that were provided: Heidi Swapp flower, mirrors and pattern paper, Prima bling, flower, and filmstrip, Me and My Big Ideas rubons and bling, Doodlebug Paper frills, flock, and flowers, Creative Imaginations crown brads, Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Pink Ink, misc. ribbon and lace, Momento Ink in Tuxedo Black.

The Pumpkin Patch

I am still just a little bit behind on my scrapping. I have only done one layout from my Disney trip in January, so I am really behind on that considering I will have another batch of vacation pictures in just a few weeks to add to my stack. Oh well. I actually don't mind being behind. I had gotten myself almost caught up at one time and I didn't like it!!!! I love being able to dig through my pictures and find something that gets me excited to work on.

Products used: KI Memories pattern papers and lace cardstock, Love Elsie pattern paper and sticker, cardstock, Fancy Pants chipboard flower and felt, misc. ribbon, Making Memories paint and flower, transparency, Queen and Company flower, Dew drop acrylic accent, Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge

G-Pa

I took this picture last Halloween after my parents put up one of those big blow-up haunted houses in their yard. My mom invited the girls from Taylor's slumber party over for a stroll through the house, but what they didn't know is that my dad was hiding inside posing as one of the statues that my mom had set up in there. The girls were already a little spooked but came completely unglued when one of the "statues" started moving and chasing them. Funny stuff!

Products used: Bazzil Cardstock, KI Memories pattern papers, Sandylion bats, Sharpie Poster Paint pen, Making Memories tags, Doodlebug paper frills, Plantin Schoolbook font and star, Momento ink in Tuxedo Black, American Crafts letter stickers (x 2)

I got a new car!!!!!

So we have been looking for a new car for about a month now. Not really knowing what we wanted or where to look, we finally ended up at Team Honda in Baton Rouge. For those that know me well, I have sworn for years that I would never drive a Honda Accord. Everyone has one and I just didn't want a car that everyone in the world had. After looking at all of the other options out there, it was settled that the Honda Accord was the best choice for the price and options that you can get. So the Honda Accord it is. I have a spoiler and sunroof guard on order and hopefully will be installed on Saturday. I am also going to call today about getting my windows tinted. That black leather interior can get hot in the summer.

Design Team Meeting April 30th

So we had our Design Team meeting last night, which is always a blast. Getting to see everyone's layout so fun! We were missing Jeanne last night, her baby boy has bronchitis, so send some good healthy vibes her way for her little boy. After the meeting, we went to Agave for dinner and some girl talk and had a blast. The food was good, the margaritas were good, well according to Lisa and Charlotte (x2 !!!!!!) said!!!! Just a fun night with good friends. Make sure to check out everyone's blogs for a look at their layouts. They are all gorgeous!!!! Here is a picture from last night
Our next kit has some cool things in it, we will be turning in our layouts at the end of May!
