Ice Skating

First I just wanted to let all of the girls know that I had a great time last night at the Design Team meeting. I had trouble falling asleep thinking about the new products that we have to work with this month. Mine seems a bit challenging, but I am looking forward to it! I have a few ideas running through my mind, I just need to sit down and see if any of it will work. I can't wait to see everyone again next month!!!

Now for something scrappy. Another layout from my daugther's ice skating party. I took way too many pictures to put on one layout, so I am having to break them up into separate layouts so I can showcase all of them. Being in south Louisiana, we don't get use to anything with snowflakes often, so I took this opportunity to use as many as I could, even though it isn't really snow. I layered lots of different snowflakes from different companies including some that I cut using the Accent Essentials cartridge from Cricut.

Products used: Fancy Pants pattern paper, Fancy Pants chipboard, KI Memories stickers, Technique Tuesday stamps, Bazzill cardstock, Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge, American Crafts metal letters covered glitter

Meeting Snow White and Dopey (Design Team February Assignment)

Ok, finally I can post this thing. I have to admit, it was much harder than I thought it would be. when Melissa gave my my kit for the month, I though, wow, I lucked out with the products and it was going to be easy, yeah, I was wrong. The products sat on my table for a week. I don't really know why I had so much trouble, the products are great and not hard to work with, I just couldn't decide what I wanted to do. Ok, so here we go. Each one of us were given KI Memories lace paper and some Buzz and Bloom chipboard. Mine happened to be the blue swirly paper and 4 swirly chipboard corners. We also had to complete 3 challenges on our layouts. So here is my layout..............

Products:
The KI Lace paper couldn't be used a s a background, so I cut it into two squares and used the corners to draw the eye to my focal picture. The Buzz and Bloom chipboard couldn't just be painted or glittered per Melissa, so I painted AND glittered them. I used the old fashion glitter and technique with glue and loose glitter to get good covereage on each piece.

Challenges:
- Layer, layer, layer - this was easy on this, I just kept putting stuff on top of other stuff. Actually for the chipboard corners, I had to layer several coats of paint to get them so vibrant. I also layered the corners on top of each other with pop dots and threaded my ribbon through the holes
- Use "trash" on your layout - another easy one for me. The black and white paper isn't really paper, it is the backing in the packages of Prima bling (large ones). It worked perfectly for what I needed it for and it was something that I would have otherwise thrown away. I also used the backing in my Cricut machine to cut the Mickey head. I will definately be looking at my trash in a different way from now on!
- use two techniques to create your title - I did a few different things on my title. The bookplate is chipboard that I painted with acrylic paint. The letter stickers were different colors that didn't match my layout, so I painted them black with acrylic paint while still on the sheet, let them dry then stuck them in the bookplate. I also used the actually autographs we received when we were in Disney to complete my title.

additional products on layout: Prima bling, misc. ribbon, Stickles, Basic Grey pattern paper, Bazzill cardstock, Cricut cartridge Mickey Font for the Mickey Mouse head, Making Memories brads,

McKenzie's 8th birthday party

This layout is from McKenzie's 8th birthday party in September of last year. She went to a party at the Hockeyplex and couldn't wait to have hers there as well. I used one of Becky Fleck's sketches for the picture placement of this. That is always the hardest part for me, so the sketches help out alot even though I rarely follow the sketch to a T. Becky Fleck now has an article in Making Memories magazine that is really good. Her sketches are awesome!!! She has a website page maps that she updates once a month with new sketches that I have been following for quite some time now. Each month, I print them off and stick them in a binder with all of my other sketches that I have collected over time. She also just released a book called Page Maps that I can't wait to get my hands on. I have read a few reviews and I think it is going to be a good one!

Products used: cardstock, KI Memories pattern papers, Prima flowers, Heidi Swapp bling, Fancy Pants chipboard "8", Making Memories diecut paper , brads and green paint, 7Gypsies sitcker, Stickles, rubon stitches (not sure who maker is), rick rack (Carrine gave this to me years ago and I finally used it!!), Stickles, Creative Imaginations epoxy stickers.

Silly girls

I will be uploading my next design team project on Wednesday, so check back!!! The products they challenged us with are Buzz and Bloom chipboard and KI Memories lace cardstock. Just a little hint, if you need some Disney inspiration, don't forget to check back!!!

I was unloading the pictures from my camera one day and found these pictures that the girls had taken without my knowledge. I love them. They aren't the best pictures in the world, in fact, some of the faces they are making are downright scary, but still, they were having fun and most important, they were getting along as far as I can tell. The layout is pretty simple, no need to put lots of embellishments on this one, I definately wanted the pictures to be the focus.
Products used: Bazzill cardstock, patter paper (I can't remember who makes it), Prima flowers, Making Memories brads, 7Gypsies stickers. I used the Wishblade to cut my title using the Chauncy Fatty font.

Creative Imaginations BE Frame

I bought this frame from Hobby Lobby a while back with intentions on decorating for a Christmas present, well that never happened. I decided to go ahead and decorate it this week to as on the table for the party that we are throwing for McKenzie's get together after her First Communion this weekend. I tried gluing sequins on it, but that didn't work out so I had to cover up my little mishaps with something. Thank goodness I have TONS of bling! The frame was white to begin with. I spritz Silver Glimmer Mist all over it several times after I stamped the edges.

So, I have been tagged (and a couple of cards)

I have had a couple of people actually tag me in the last week or so, so I figured I need to make my post and tag others!
Here are the rules: Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I never let my car get lower than 1/2 tank of gas. I have this weird thing about running out of gas for some reason. Most of my family and friends laugh at me about it.
2. I hated my Iphone when I first got it and was going to return it. I have since started to like it, but I still don't love it like I wanted to.
3. I wash all of my dishes by hand. I have never EVER had a dishwasher, even as a child, my mom never had one either. I guess even stranger than that, is that I have no desire to even get a dishwasher!!!!
4. I have a very addictive personality and can pretty much get addicted to anything that I like. I'm talking TV shows, certain foods, designer purse, etc.
5. I hate chocolate ice cream and chocolate cake!!!
6. I am *TERRIFIED* of going to the dentist. I start crying as soon as I walk in the door of the dentist office. There is no real reason for me to be afraid, but I can't help this irrational fear that I have.
7. I am a very routine person and hate when my normal routine gets out of whack.

Ok, now for my cards. I was a little bored this weekend, but didn't feel like working on a layout or getting involved with a layout, but wanted to be scrappy, so I decided to do a couple of cards. This is what I came up with
Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Cherry Arte paper (handcut), Marcella by Kay metal embellishment, ribbon, MM paint

Products used: Bazzill cardsock, KI Memories Lace paper, Making memories Noteworthy notebook paper, Heidi Swapp flower, KI Memories sticker, misc flower bling, Stickles, Basic Grey sticker letters

Sixth Grade

Ok, so I finally have something to show everyone. It is killing me that I haven't had time to scrap or post or do anything fun the last few days. This week is even worse!!!!! Hopefully once this week passes, things will calm down for a bit.

I have been working on my next Design Team layout. It is coming along. At first when I saw the packet Melissa gave me, I thought that it was going to be easy to whip something out in no time. Boy was I wrong. I took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do. I just need to add a few finishing touches and I think I will be done. That layout won't be posted until March 27th though, so everyone is going to have to wait to see it! The only hint that I can give you is that I used some of my pictures from my last Disney trip, so if you are needing some Disney ideas, stay tuned!

Here is the layout that I did for Taylor's book on the first day of school. I liked it until I saw the picture of it. I don't know why, it just looks better in person. Anyway...........

Products used: Creative Imaginations pattern paper (this new stuff is gorgeous), Fancy Pants stamps and felt pieces, MM paint, Stickles, American Crafts stickers, MM stickers, ribbon (this actually came from some packaging from some Prima flowers that I bought recently).

I usually take pictures on the first day of school every year of the girls because it is fun to see just how much they have grown since the last first day of school. McKenzie's First Holy Communion dress

McKenzie is making her first Holy Communion in just a couple of weeks. These are just a few pictures that I snapped really quick yesterday afternoon. I was waiting for a good cloudy day to get some pictures of her in her dress. She isn't much of a girly girl, but she loves this dress. It looks really good on her too and the dress is beautiful. It should be, I paid enough for it!!!!! (I haven't had time to tweak all of them in photoshop yet, so forgive the imperfections, lol)
