Wow!

So, I get a comment yesterday on my baby boy card from http://onescrappychicklet.blogspot.com/ that there is a surprise on her blog for me! Can you believe that she rated me in her top 10 blogs!! I haven't been blogging for very long and to tell you the truth, I always kind of thought blogging was lame. I mean, who would want to read about my boring life? After winning a spot of the design team for Treasured Memories, I was told that Janet wanted us to set up a blog to showcase our layouts. At first, eh, the thought of it was just....well, not my thing. Then I decided to give it a try and now I love it! I love being able to post my things and have my own little space out there on the web. And now for someone to acknowledge my blog, well, it makes me smile at the very least. So now, I want to give this award to my favorite blogs:

  1. http://charlottecramer.blogspot.com/ - fellow design team member, Charlotte has a great style, lots different from my style and I think that is why I like it, because it is something different
  2. http://dottbugs.blogspot.com/ - love her designs and her style
  3. http://2pawsdesigns.blogspot.com/ - just a sweet blog
  4. http://creativedolphindesigns.blogspot.com/ - she does blog challenges everyday on 2ps and also has some really cute books on her blog right now
  5. http://shirleyfyfe.typepad.com/ - love her blog
  6. http://papercapers.blogspot.com/ - make sure to click on her kids parties
  7. http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com/ - love her blog
  8. http://splendidmissm.blogspot.com/ - love her rolodex cards
  9. http://www.kimodon2.blogspot.com/ - love her and her blog (hope to see you at WW later this morning!)
  10. http://www.toniarmstrong.blogspot.com/ - another just fun blog

Sweet Baby Boy

I have a baby shower to attend this weekend and this is the card that I made for that shower. I think I am going to buy a plain gift bag and cut another dog for the bag and have a matching set. Yay for me once again, I was able to stuff that I had on hand again. I am really getting into using some of my stuff and getting rid of it, lol.

Products used: cardstock and pattern paper from Hobby Lobby (I think), All Mixed Up and Celebrations Cricut cartridges, Stickles, googly eyes.

Class Pictures (from last year)

I saw that Christie posted layouts of her kids' class pictures and realized that I still had not done the girls' picures from last year. I hate scrapping these class pictures. They are horrible pictures to begin with, dark and just not good and they are just hard to scrap. Both of these layouts are very plain and just a combination of stuff I had here in my stash.
Products used: Fancy Pants felt, Foo-Fa-La paper, Karen Foster paper, Heidi Swapp ghost stars, Making Memories brads, Fancy Pants chipboard "5", and Basic Grey Wilma chipboard letters.

Products used: Karen Foster paper, unknown paper, Fancy Pants chipboard and felt, misc. buttons, Grungeboard letters, Heidi Swapp ghost stars and Making Memories brads.

HANNAH MONTANA!!!!!!

Ok, this girl can put on a show!!!! It was non-stop!!! The girls had a blast, I had a blast, it was a good night. Our seats weren't the best in the house, and even though we were in the 3rd level, let me tell you, we could have had worse seats. It was fun watching all of the little girls dressed up as Hannah and get so excited to be there. Here are a few pictures from our night

You so crazy!

From 2ps: What are your scrapping plans this weekend? Well, not sure yet. Tonight we are going to the Hannah Montana concert!!! My girls are really excited. I went to my first meeting for the Design Team at Treasured Memories and got my first assignment. I brought my pictures to Sam's last night for said assignment, so I will probably work on that this weekend, since I am sure it is going to take me a little while to get the layout completed. We are also riding in the Scott Mardi Gras parade on Sunday and I plan to take lots of pictures there as well. I still have last year's pictures from said parade to scrap, lol.

I bought this HUGE wig for Taylor for Halloween and she wore it any chance she had, hee hee.

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey pattern paper, Doodlebug sugarcoated chipboard letters, Fancy Pants chipboard, Heidi Swapp photo corner, misc. ribbon, 7Gypsies stickers, bling.

Mother's Day 2006

I started this layout on Friday night, but finished it yesterday. I needed some flower to go on it, so I had to wait a couple of days to finish it. Why is that I have 125849856542347562 flowers, yet nothing matched this layout????

Products used: flowers from Heidi Swapp, Prima and Petaloo, Chrystalline bling, Fancy Pants chipboard, Bazzill cardstock, Reminisce pattern papers, Making Memories snaps and brad, Cricut Base Camp cartridge (I think it was Base Camp), Creative Imaginations stickers.

Glitter

Just a one pager about McKenzie's love for Glitter, her monkey from Build-A-Bear. I used pop dots on the crown and letters to help them pop off the page a little.

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Junkitz pattern paper (pink), the black paper is from my scraps and I have no clue who makes it. Majestical Memoies chipboard, Bazzill Stitchez template, embroidery floss, ribbons, Buzz and Bloom chipboard arrow, Autmn Leaves stamps (letters), Stickles, Heidi Swapp crown stamp, Pop dots

Happy Bearthday Anna!

I did this layout at a crop that I went to Friday night. I ended up adding some more to it yesterday because I felt that it was a little too simple, even though I like simple. My niece, Anna, loves Build-A-Bear, so she had her party there. The whole store and everything in it is just too cute. My girls love Build-A-Bear.

Products used: Cricut Celebrations and Alphalicious carts, Stickles, cheap Hobby Lobby cardstock, Build-A-Bear pattern paper and epoxy stickers from Creative Imaginations and pop dots. I used the pop dots to give the gifts more depth and add a little something to the main picture of Anna.

60 years

Can you imagine being married for 60 years? It is just amazing to see a couple that has been married that long. I did this layout of my husband's grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. They are Hurricane Katrina survivors and lost pretty much everything but each other and a few possessions. Pawpaw has Alzheimer's Disease and Hospice has now stepped in. Mawmaw is doing great after a nasty fall that caused quite a bit of damage a little over a year ago. She is now walking on her own quite a bit. These pictures make me happy and sad all at the same time. I remember their 50th Anniversary party and they were both so well and lively.
Products used: pattern paper is from Hobby Lobby, Bazzill cardstock, Tim Holtz Distressing ink, Basic Grey Wilma chipboard letters, Fancy Pants chipboard numbers and heart, Fancy Pants felt scroll, Bazill rubons and pearls (I think they are Bazzill), Making Memories definition sticker. To get the two large scrolls, I traced some Technique Tuesday chipboard and then cut it out.

Disney trip report

Ok, I will try to keep this short and sweet. We had a great trip and can't wait to go back, however, it will be a few years when we do.

Monday - MGM Studios which is actually called Disney's Hollywood Studios now. This is our least favorite park and once again, we just didn't care for it. We did ride Rockin Rollercoaster, which I loved. Taylor took the chicken exit, McKenzie kind of liked it. I thought it was awesome. We ate at Sci-Fi which seems to get lots of bad reviews on the Disboards, but we liked it. It rained later that evening and 3/4 of the park ended up shutting down, so we left. We might even skip this park the next time we go.

Tuesday - Magic Kingdom, my favorite park. We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's then headed out to the park. We had a great day riding everything. Taylor got her face painted and it was so pretty.

Wednesday - Animal Kingdom, another one of my favorites. We got to ride Expedition Everest which wasn't open the last time we went. It was there and being built, but not open. I LOVED IT!!!! McKenzie liked it too, Taylor didn't ride. We we able to meet Pocohontas and Daisy Duck, both of which we had never met. After leaving (they close at 5) we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare which was a blast meeting Cinderella, Prince Charming and her wicked stepsisters and stepmother.

Thursday - Back to Magic Kingdom! Breakfast in the castle, I mean you just can't get more magical than that right??? After breakfast, we headed to Big Thunder Mountain and were surprised with Dream fastpasses when we got off the ride!!! We were thrilled to get them, especially when we would hit some of the rides that had waits of 50 minutes! We had another cool thing happen as well. While in line to ride the teacups, we see Mad Hatter and Alice skipping down the sidewalk. They skip all the way to the teacups and Mad Hatter actually rode in the teacup with us!!! How cool is that? After the ride, we were invited to go with them to take pictures. The girls (and me) were thrilled to death.

Friday - Epcot, none of us are really crazy about this park either. I think I would like it better if I didn't feel I had to entertain the kids while there. They think it is boring, I think it would be a blast to explore at night and enjoy the World Showcase without kids. We got to ride Test Track which was also closed the last time we went for rehab. We ended up riding it twice. Well, McKenzie and I did, Taylor took the chicken exit. We had lunch at the Coral Reef which as excellent. I highly recommend it!

Cousins

more pictures from Olan Mills, I think this is it for these though unless I run across another one that I forgot about. Picture is of my girls and my brother's girls, we usually get together when they are in town and have pictures taken of all the girls for my mom.
Products used: KI Memories papers and chipboard letters, Fany Pants felt swirl, Making Memories flowers and eyelets, Bazzill ink for distressing the edges

1st grade Valentine party

Ok, so here is a very simple layout that I threw together this morning. I can't wait to get back into the groove of scrapping. After being on vacation, I have had so much other stuff (housework) to do, that I haven't had time to get anything else done. This layout is pretty simple, but hey, at least it is done. I am not crazy about the "celebration" word, but oh well.

Products used: Cloud 9 paper, Making Memories rubon word, Queen and Co. bold sequins, Scrapworks, Cricut Plantin Schoolbook and All Mixed Up cartridge, Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug paper frills, Art Glitter, Stickles.

Sadly, I haven't heard anything on my computer yet. I dropped it off yesterday and was assured that they were going to be able to recover my photos, so I am very hopeful. Please sending good thoughts and vibes that I can get my pictures back.

Please pray to the computer gods for me......

Well, we had a great trip (will post a trip report later), but it is great to be home. Please, pray to the computer gods for me this week, here is what happened. Every night, I would go back to the hotel room and download my pictures on to my laptop and delete my card for the next day. Monday and Tuesday, I burned my pictures to a DVD just in case something happened. Wednesday and Thursday, we were really busy and tired, so I just downloaded them to my computer, but didn't burn a DVD. Friday morning, I woke up, tried to turn my computer on and nothing...........so I am missing two days worth of pictures. In fact, I am missing the best two days that we had of pictures. I have no clue what is wrong with the computer, but I am hoping that I can recover my pictures, I don't care if the computer is dead, I will just buy a new one. I also haven't reformatted my card, so I am hoping that maybe I can have a chance with a recovery program for that. I plan on calling the computer guy first thing tomorrow, hopefully he can help me out.

and we're off..............

Yay! Finally, we are leaving for Disneyworld!!! We are all feeling much better, still not 100%, but at least we can all function now, which is a good thing. I promise to post a great report on our trip when we get back and I look forward to starting on scrapping all of my new Disney pictures (as well as all of my other pictures that I haven't done yet from the past year). See you in about a week!!!!!

D-A-N-C-E

Well, we are leaving in a few days for Disney and wouldn't you know that Taylor and I both get sick. We both have some sort of horrible chest cold. We went to the dr. yesterday and got on some antibiotics, cough medicine and inhaler. I feel much better today, but I have almost lost my voice completely. I hope Taylor is feeling better today too, I haven't heard yet since she is still sleeping. So if anyone feels the need to send some "get better" vibes, we will take them.

Ok, now some scrappy stuff............

I made this cute little book using my Wishblade. It took a little while for me to figure out how to do the letters as the shadow, but I got through it. I have had my Wishblade for several years now and I while I don't use it to it's fullest potential, I do love it. I plan on making these books for all of the girls in McKenzie's dance class for a dance recital gift. This one is just my practice one and I used what little dance embellishments I had on hand, so be kind, lol. I plan on really decorating these up for the girls.

In just a few days.........

WE WILL BE LEAVING FOR DISNEYWORLD!!!! Yay! The excitement kind of hit me last night when I realized that I need start getting mentally prepared about what to pack to bring with us. Lee isn't coming with us this time, I think he had enough the first time. I mean, does this look like the face of someone who is having a blast or what????
Anyway, we will be leaving in just 5 days and we can't be more excited. It didn't really hit me until I picked up the travel documents from the travel agent last week that our trip was so close. I have been planning this since June and it seemed like it would never get here. I am looking forward to another HUGE stack of Disney pictures to scrap. Last time, I took over 1000 pictures and that translated to 4 complete albums. Yes, 4 albums for one trip. This trip will probably be no different.
